The Albemarle County Historical Society

Offers regular tours of the historic downtown:
Saturday Morning Tours include exploration of the history of Charlottesville, wandering the streets of the original downtown. Court Square was a familiar meeting place for Jefferson, Madison, and Monroe. Most of the buildings have been preserved including the building that was Jefferson's Law Office.

Civil War Tours

Lead Guide, Frank S Walker, guides you through Central Virginia's Civil War battles including Fredericksburg, Chancellorsville and Wilderness. It is about a seven-hour tour with a stop provided for lunch. Located in Orange, Virginia.

Tours provided of the Rotunda and central grounds. Self-guided maps are available at the Rotunda. Not open during semester breaks.

Bonaire Charters

Tour Albemarle County by a hot air balloon. Bonaire Charters offers relaxing and romantic flights with a traditional champagne toast after the flight. Sunrise and sunset flights are available daily, weather permitting.
